Would You Welcome Schwarzenegger-Shriver

Rumors are flying that California's first family is looking to purchase property in Ojai. Would this be good or bad for the community?

I would welcome anyone to our valley who can afford to live here. To those who worry that such action would put Ojai "on the map," wake up. It has been for a long time. Just look down main street and try to count the cars. Schwarzenegger's move here could not possibly wreck our tourist-based community more than it already has been.

I don't think it will matter much as they would be living in the upper valley. Ojai is a great place as long as you stay clear of the center of town on the weekend. Lots of kuku nuts driving and walking around.

I guess I'll need to see what kind of footprint he leaves before I answer that question. Ask us again after he's been here about 2 years.

As an ex-resident with a pretty long memory, Ojai has been home for a lot of people, famous and not so famous. It never made a bit of difference to the comfort level in the valley. The Governator is known to be a rider and to enjoy many of the aspects of life for which Ojai is well known. With the first family of California in residence, maybe those who want to preserve the beauty of the valley will find some muscle to help them...forgive the reference.

I would welcome him and his family. I don't think we would see him all that much, but his presence could only add more tourism to Ojai and that is the economic life blood of Ojai as we are so aware of due to the hardships faced when the OVI went through their upgrades taking out our most significant source of revenues.

I like people with gumption and no one is more unabashed about their existence and direction than Arnold.

Only if he can explain this.
