Warrant Suspect Arrested

At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sheriff's Deputy Jacob Valenzuela was on patrol in the Tico Road area of Mira Monte when he spotted David Campus, 20, of Ojai, who had several warrants. According to Senior Deputy Jim Popp, "Valenzuela saw Campus, Campus saw Valenzuela, and the chase was on." Campus allegedly tried to evade arrest, but neighbors and local business owners in the area assisted in the arrest by tipping officers off to his location.

Nice work, Deputy Valenzuela! Thanks, from a grateful citizen.

This kid is nothing but trouble. May as well lock him up and toss the key right now and save the taxpayers a ton.

Come on Live free, a bit of a change from your "normal" posts. Tell us how this is a case of "the man" picking on the citizens of the 805, its gotta be blatant oppression, Tell us how this is a case of a crooked cop speeding and breaking the law for no good reason. Perhaps Campus is a secret government operative and was doing work for Al Qaeda in the valley? Maybe Campus knows where Hoffa's body is. Maybe Campus is a Alien from Uranus. Isn't the sky still falling?

Aww come on Live free, I expect better from you, no fear mongering or conspiracy theories, just some juvenile pseudo-sexist banter, tisk tisk. You disappoint me.

I believe this young man is a substance abuser, much like many in the Ojai area. The great work that Ojai PPD accomplished with the use of 6-10 cop cars speeding around neighborhoods, along with their helicopter, didn't go to far when the young man was OR'd from jail two days later. Don't you wish that the dealers might get the same attention? This young man
was raised without a male role model with a single parent working mother to make ends meet. Perhaps one of the "less" sympathetic anonymous writings, might consider
putting themselves out "Just a touch" and help kids like Campus....perhaps with a job? Training? Anything? Shame on all
the derogatory commentors. This young man has a precious spirit and is a creation of God. Keep judging and I guarantee it will be your kid next.

So was Bill Clinton and Obama. This kid Campus knows what he is doing is wrong, or he wouldn't be running away from police. He knows it is wrong, and he keeps doing it. Other people judging him is not the problem, here!

I don't have kids, but I was a kid once and know this kid knows the difference between right and wrong and chose to go down the wrong path. There's no excuse. He should be held accountable for his actions.

No one said this man shouldn't be held accountable for his actions, just wanted to let you know the picture. I sure wish someother mothers would get their quotes in and let the community know how our jail system fails our kids over and over again.

Like our school system, they IEP's
like there going out of style, throw the kids in with the "retard,
something's wrong with you class"
where the kids are enmeshed with
peer ridicule and more lack of esteem. The kids all say that they
don't do anything in those rooms.
At a ninth grade orientation a girlfriend and myself attended, it was all about the "high" achievers
(is that about money?). Nothing was said about the less fortunate.

Yes, this kid could have been superman and stepped up to the plate, but unfortunately, for those who are actually smart enough to understand genes and addiction, along with low self esteem, and moms that cannot actually tie up their kids or chain them to the bed (the kids are bigger than the moms) and oh ya, many of us have called the police for help, they can't do anything......and when the kid gets arrested they just let them
out the next day.

How about a nice rehabilitation center that's affordable to lower income families/since we seem to be the ones with the biggest problems. Our kids have to face day to day life on the streets, rather than being blessed by private schools.....is some of this about money? Or lack of?

I cannot believe all this attention to one kid (who is not a gang banger) who has only been arrested for substance abuse.

We need MEN to step up to the plate and help mothers who need it
and have asked for it. How about some volunteers. Get these kids a job doing something, and the problem I am sure is dimished tremendously.

Not a gang banger? Seriously?

Dear Mom,

Your son is a loser. I guess he got it from you!

No amount of welfare can change your destiny to fail.

What an inciteful remark by Mister Rogers. Once again, with this scumbag off the street, it is indeed a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Great job deputy and keep up the good work!

Anonymous said...

Yes, it certainly was inciteful, or did you mean insightful?

kistakes? niose? When did you get your g.e.d.?

How do people make mistakes that involve running away from the sheriff? This is not a mistake or a 'poor choice' it is criminal and anti-social. This stuff doesn't happen to normal people. Go be a criminal and anti-social all you want, just do it in prison!

Anonymous said...

I think Mr. Rogers meant inciteful. I think he wants to incite a race riot.

Anonymous said...

Off subject...I think we need to get the Ojai PD on a workout plan, they all look just a bit overweight. Maybe a membership at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club...oh wait, I forgot you can't afford that on a cops salary.

How about get over it! Do you people have anything else to do?
And if you don't know what you're talking about you really shouldn't do so. Most of your ongoing comments are foul Mr. Rogers. I will try to pray for you, that God gives you everything you need and more. You must be a miserable person. This whole blog thing is disgusting and I can't help but wonder how OVN would lower itself by printing this crap.

Where are the good men in this valley? The police department has more heart than the people of this
valley, or it would appear so.

Oh, ya,....I know.....the people with heart wouldn't degrade themselves by even playing this game. No wonder there has not been one kind word.

I have a strong feeling that I know at least one of you. Why? Because I just do. OVN I am extremely disappointed in the fact that you publish such crap.

I'm out. No more comments unless someone would like to identify themselves for real and have a heart to heart conversation.

That is if any of you have a heart.
